A note to all of my idealist friends:

If you want the world to be the perfect place that you have in your mind then follow these steps to get there from here:
  1. Take a realistic look at the world for what it really is.
  2. Listen to information from sources that you don’t normally get it from.
  3. Stop demonizing people who have different views than your own.
  4. Have pleasant conversations with people who have different views, and try and understand where they are coming from.
  5. Start questioning your beliefs, and check to see if they are factually accurate. The truth can’t hurt you.
  6. The world is the way it is today because of things that happened yesterday. Pay attention to history.
  7. Problems in the world have a root cause, and those causes usually aren’t what you think. For example if a person is sick with cancer you may think that cancer is the root cause, but why the person got cancer in the first place is the real root cause.
Why did I write this? Because I think the world would be a better place if people started thinking about what they say and do, and stopped relying on others to think for them. If everyone started doing this then the world would become closer to the perfect place I would want it to be. But I’m not an idealist so I won’t hold my breath.

Jibber Jabber Man

Jibber Jabber Man speaks with authority, he speaks with conviction, but it’s all just jibber jabber.

The energy of the universe courses through my being.
Quiet, and comforting, it guides my intuition.
Flowing, and ebbing, with currents of smoky waves I can feel, and see it in the night.
Confident in its guidance, no faith is needed; I know that it is real.

“Jiber Jabber, Jibber Jabber, Blah blah blah” says Jibber Jabber Man.
A self proclaimed expert, he asks for their faith in the rules he says they must follow.
Jibber Jabber Man you Flim-Flam Man, watch them all follow Jibber Jabber Man.
“Follow me or be punished, follow me to your reward.” He proclaims standing above them.
Jibber Jabber Man, what a sham, taking credit for what you don’t possess.
“Jibber Jabber, Jibber Jabber” goes the merchant of fear, pulling them all in close.
Leave them alone Jibber Jabber Man.
The universe will always be there, with or without you Jibber Jabber Man, and for anyone who stops to touch it.
Be quiet Jibber Jabber Man, and listen to the silence. It will speak to you too, when you let go of your fear.

Reality

Take a moment, open your eyes, and really think about reality.
It’s what you can touch.
It’s what you can experience.
It’s the feeling inside when you hear your child cry.
It’s what you can see.
It’s right in front of you.
It’s when you step back and look from the outside.
It’s yesterday, it’s now, but tomorrow’s reality has yet to unfold.
It’s the history of the past.
It’s the chair you are sitting in, right now.
It can be imagined, but it can’t be made up, or called into being with wishful thinking.
It can’t be wished away, it’s not dust to be swept under a rug.
It can be twisted.
It doesn’t play favorites, it can be argued over, but it will not change.
It’s not the spoken word, but of the actions of the speaker.
Faith can be a reality, but reality is not faith.
